Ok, none to buy? How about building one?

Ok, I'm jones'ing for a new rear wheel for a paddle. I've trying to decide if I should buy the parts and build one. I've heard you can save some money over buying one prebuilt. time I have, money I don't. I've got a pretty good understanding of mechanics and common sense (except that I like to ride a motorcycle in the sand )

Has anyone put the package together, if so saved any money? If I did put one together it will be an 18"x2.15
