2002 YZ426F Street Legal

Get all the yellow plastic. I sorta like EvMon's bike. I am going to Motard mine. She is an ol war horse. I have taken good care of it and it has been good to me. Just can't sell it, so I'll bring it to a bit of a "easier" life. Instead of blazing thru the woods, I'll blaze around town.

I Like It....

I would like to get a hanna kit for mine. They are sweet. Quick Question, What did you do about the tall 1st gear problem on the street? Mine probably does 35/40 mph in 1st gear and 80 mph in 5th. I am thinking auto for the woods.

Tall first gear? What are you talking about? I think you're thinking of a WR and not a YZ. My '02 surely doesn't have a tall first gear, especially for the street.

I like the plastic, I agree the huricane kit would still be cool. Do they even still make those? I remember seeing those back in like '99.

First gear on my 426 is way too tall if I up the gearing too much. I would love to run 15/42 but 1st becomes too tall for in town stuff.

Nay Nay!!

Where did you get the 42 rear sprocket? I can,t seem to get anything smaller than a 46 for my 01 426.

JT racing sells them.

I want a 42 tooth rear. How fast can it go with this?

Running 13/42 with 17in wheels will cruise nicely at 100km/hr up to 138 to the rev limiter. I ran 15/42 on the 17s and got 156 on the rev limiter but first gear was way too long so I bumped it back down to 13/42

the pictures look like they were photochopped but if thats what ur going for u hit the nail on the head :)

Shows you how versitile the yz 426 is. Street, moto, desert, etc. Yellow blue red?

I have a 15/44 setup on my 03 WR and I can hit 100mph without hitting the rev limiter.

It cruises comfortly at 55-60mph all day long without putting a strain on the motor but will still pull a 3rd gear power wheelie.

Nice!! I think you should put some blue plastics on it. But its nice man!

I like it too! Very clean! I was just wondering if its still possible to street legal them? I just bought one this summer and really want to get the license plate on it. Is it still possible?

Also, what gearing would you recommend for trail riding? Are the stock gears too short for trail riding? What do you think?
