'87 XR600 - front fork spacer length

Can anyone tell me with the length of the stock front fork spacer (between the cap and fork spring) is for a '87 XR600. Mine had been replaced with a 2.5" long PVC spacers some time in its past. I am replacing the stock springs with uprated Eibach springs...don't know if they need the stock length spacer or not.

cut the spacers so there is a half inch of preload, be sure to include the length of the fork tube caps in your measurements.
