2005 CRF250R Mods

I don't know the answer, but when I looked @ it the jet sizes were too small for the 05.

Stock Pilot 04 - 40

Stock Pilot 05 - 42

Stock Main 04 - 160

Stock Main 05 - 172

I run a 48P 178M and stock needle. This is w/ a Factory 4 setup. I'll probably

drop to a 45P and 175M when it warms up here.

Thanks!

I have the JD Jetting Kit in my 2005 KTM 450EXC and it really works well. I also had it in my 2004 KTM 450EXC and it also worked well. Just don't know about the 2005 CRF250R.

I just put the 2005 White Brothers Carbon pro exhaust on the CRF250 R and was also wondering if the JD kit will work with the pipe. Anybody running this combination? I haven't ridden the bike with the WB pipe yet.

Thanks

Terry,

I have the jetting in my '05 CRF250R. This is one of the best mods you can buy for under $80. You may also want to go to your local honda dealer and pick up a 155 leak jet. Also take out the stock filter and backfire cage and put in the twin air filter. Trust me it works! This jetting will work with any pipe. Go under the jetting section and ask James Dean. He will have the right setup for you! Good luck!

I'm not asking how to jet the bike!! I just want to know if the JD Jetting Kit works better than stock jetting on the 2005 CRF250R?

Thanks

The only thing I can add is that I've jetted my '05 CCC X according to the '05 R jetting chart and it seems pretty close to spot on.....

What is a leak jet? Are you referring to the slow jet?

The leak jet is a small jet that "leaks" fuel from your accelerator pump (AP) circuit back into the fuel bowl. Changing it changes the length of your AP fuel squirt and strongly affects the performance of the engine when you whack the throttle open quickly. A larger leak jet leaks more fuel which shortens the AP fuel squirt, and vice versa. It's covered here.
