THE BOG IS GONE!!! THE BOG IS GONE!!!!!!!!

7 posts in this topic

After many weeks of trying to dial the bog outta the '99 YZ400, it's finally GONE!!!! I can't believe how this bike runs now, it's like my old RM250. I wick the throttle open instantly and the bike just lights off the line, no hesitation at all. BIG THANKS must go out to Yamakaze, Taffy, JD, and all the others, but especially Yamakaze, whom contributed to the solution! TT Rules.

The only minor hesitation I have now is when I wick the throttle going slow in 3rd or 4th gear, but it's a small hesitation. I'm going to install the Starting Line Products Power Pak dealio tommorrow and see how that works.

'99 YZ400, WR426 Flywheel & Stator

160MAJ/155MJ, OBEKN-3, 40PJ/75PAS, FS 2 turns out.

oh, sorry. I rejetted my bike from the stock jetting to a:

160 main air jet

155 main jet

OBEKN needle on clip 3

40 Pilot jet (38 pilot in the mail)

75 Pilot air screw (60 PAS w/ the 38 PJ)

I did the Taffy collar mod and set it for about 1.5 seconds

and set the Kouba fuel screw out about 2 turns. Not sure where I'm at on the fuel screw at the moment but I'll check it tonight.

Sounds good. That would bother me too if I had it.

So where do you ride up there?

Hey, we go out to Blacks Creek quite a bit, that's a great riding area. For quick rides it's the boise front foothills, 5 minutes from my garage.
