hi-comp xr6

I need a top end rebuild on my 96xr6 and am wondering about putting in a 10:1 prox piston kit?Any advice would be appreciated.

High comp pistons are always heavier than stock, so there is that trade off, also they stress the bottom end a lot more than a stocker. I weighed a stock & a JE high comp piston and the stocker was about 15% lighter than the high comp one! When I rebuilt my XR6 I shaved the head 20 thou (0.5mm) and tidyed up the inlet port. This made a big difference in power with no loss in reliablity thus far. Good luck with it! :):D
