Scratch on fork leg

I have a slight scuff on one of my fork legs that is detectable to the touch. I have heard that these can be sanded? Can anyone offer some tips on what paper to use and maybe tips on technique?

Look in the manual. It tells you what grit to use and I think it's 1000 grit wet but double check.

I've had good results with a sharpening stone...
