I have read on this and am ready to order the parts

ARE THOSE CORRECT AND all I will need to do the job ?

Also I only need 1 of each correct?

Can you do the lock washer mod with this mod ?

These are the correct part #s(1 of each) - do a search on this topic,there are a few other mods you can do to your clutch to help increase oil flow, clutch action etc...

I'm in the process of doing the clutch mod. In addition to the 426 parts you listed, i'm also doing the 04 mod. This involves replacing the clutch cable, push lever, torsion spring, and clutch cable holder from an '04. It makes the clutch pull much easier. You can do a search and find tons of posts on this topic. I have the '04 part numbers if you need them.

I blew my lower rod bearing on my 03 yz450f and while my buddy had my bike apart he cut the arm that the clutch cable hooks to in half and added 5mm in length. It made a noticeable differance, i mainly trail ride and in the tight stuff i can actually still pull it in, as often as needed. Which wasnt easy stock and trail riding.

If you're referring to the internal clutch parts from an 05, I'm not sure what all you would have to replace. With the 426 parts, you would just have to replace the 3 items you listed and thats it. If you're referring to the external 04 parts that I replaced, the 05 parts are the same as the 04 parts. Check out this link and you can compare part numbers from the different years to see whats same and whats different.

By the way, I finished both the 426 clutch mod and the 04 clutch mod and it's awesome. The 04 mod made the clutch pull sooo easy. I have all the part numbers if you need it.

Here are the part numbers and prices for the 04 mod. The prices are what my local shop charged. You may be able to get them for a few bucks cheaper if you shopped around.

04 Clutch cable (5UL-26335-00-00)-$22.54

04 Push lever (5XD-16381-00-00)-$38.37

04 Torsion spring (90508-12007-00)-$1.13

04 Hose clamp (5JG-11387-00-00)-$3.61

Since the 04's and 05's reroute the clutch cable on the left side of the motor, they have a bracket on the left side of the frame to hold the cable. The 03's dont have this bracket so I just used a small clamp purchased from Home Depot and bolted it in between the radiator and the frame. It holds the cable perfect. If you don't want to do this you could just zipty it.

The mod is the way to go. Do them both. Do the 03 mod and the 04 routing mod. Obviously dont buy the acuator for the 03 mod if you do the 04 routing mod but still by the 426 parts.

The hot ticket IMHO is to buy the GYT clutch kit, stick with the 03 routing and add a Magura Hydraulic Clutch. I will never not have the hydraulic clutch on my bikes in the future. :cry:

The dealer had the GYTR clutch kit but it was $110.00. If your clutch plates are still good then there's no need to spend that much for the GYTR kit. The 426 mod is much cheaper.

I hear ya. But I was feeling lazy and just popped for it! For me the biggest improvement is the hydro lever. It really helps make the action super consistent. :cry:

The one I saw for $110 had all the clutch and friction disks, the push lever, torsion spring, etc. It had a lot of parts that I didn't need so I didn't get it. I didn't get the part number either.

Motomike137, you bought the kit. How much did you pay?

A while ago there was a clutch lever mod that was quick and easy but I did a search and can not find the old post. There is a company that makes an EZ Pull Clutch lever and it works great as well.
