0w maxima oils - which wieght to use?

1 post in this topic

i have been using yamalube 4 20w-50 oil since i got the bike. recently, i have gotten faster and have been using the clutch alot more, which trashes my oil alot faster.

i saw a maxima ad thats shows 0w-10 and 0w-30 oils. also a 5w-50... im wondering which wieght would be best for a YZ - basically, whats more important? the start up viscosity or the viscosity of the oil when hot? if im even correct about that.

im leaning toward 0w-10, but isnt a 10w oil too thin to protect a highly loaded engine? on the other hand, it would flow better and drag less. anyone use this stuff, and is it worth the money?
