xr6 jetting help

4 posts in this topic

I cant seem to get my jetting right on my xr6. I am at 7200 feet, fmf pc42 pipe, fmf pb header, uni, no snorkle. Stock it came with 152m 62p. Bogged horribly on bottom end. Went to 155m 65p and no difference. Am I runnig lean or rich?

You're definitely way too rich on the pilot!

I ride at 5,000 to 8,000 feet with a WB E-Series and XR's Only Filter.

I'm currently running 168 main and a 58 pilot. Believe it or not, I think I might even be able to go leaner!

I'll test:

165 main

55 pilot

If plug is a tad dark.

I pulled the plug and the porc. was brown with a few black streaks. So I changed to 150m, stock pilot, leaned out the needle 1 position, and 2 1/2 turns on the air screw. Runs alot better but still needs a little tweeking. When I get the carb off next I will try a 58 pilot and see if that helps.

Thanks for the replies.
