Stalling and Flooding....

Having problems with my 01 426 stalling if I'm not real carefull coming onto the throttle from idle. Hot/cold makes no diference. Also it floods everytime if i get bogged down in some deep mud. I try not to let it stall out in the mud, but it seems to cut out pretty easy once it get in deep, and then it's flooded every time. Real pain in the butt trying to get it going after it's flooded. Usually takes 15 - 20 minutes.

These two problems may be somewhat related, I'm thinking that the fuel/air mixture may be too rich, or the accelerator pump is pushing way to much gas. Where should I start to get things sorted out? (GBMod ?) What do you guys think? Thanks for the help...

Are you giving it gas of idle?

Ya, after the bike is started and running.... If I'm not real slow with the the throttle it will stall...

Mark Van, sounds to me like 2 problems. Yes do the GB MOD. If you riding woods I would also put a flywheel wt on it. I put a 10oz on Garretts old 426 and it didn't stall anymore.

Ditto

Visit http://motoman393.thumpertalk.com and look under Tech Articles, Garret has some good tips in there beyond the GBmod as well.

I have a detailed write up on the setup of the GBmod here GBmod Explained
