DOT certified gas tank for the BRPL

I was wondering what I can use for a larger tank that is DOT acceptable?

If you run into someone who checks the legality of your tank tell them to get a life.

metal gas tanks are only required by manufacturers, you can run plastic.

I switched to a plastic tank as soon as I bought my L and I just had it inspected and they didnt say a word about it.

aprilla streetbikes all have plastic/fiberglass gastanks, so i wouldbnt say metal is "reqire" by manufacturers

just a thought...

so does the v-rod

But do those bikes with plastic tanks have the tank enclosed?

I've heard of guys on the trail out west getting tickets for non-metal tanks!

You aren't required to have a DOT approved anything except tires and possibly lights.
