Problem with '02 426 5th Gear Surging/Bucking.

6 posts in this topic

anyone ever encounter this. when i shift into 5th at pretty much any speed, the bike feels almost like the chain is skipping teeth on the sprocket. the motor isnt misfiring, or sputtering, and it runs flawless all the way to the limiter in every other gear, the second i go to 5th, it freaks out. Could there be a problem with the transmission?

please help

thanks!

sounds like you may have a few missing teeth on the 5th gears in the tranny.

is this a common occurrence? im using it for roadracing, and it has VERY tall gearing.

Bent shift fork, broekn gears worn cogs on the gears. If your RR then I would say its time to crack the cases and see whats up, have you seen any metal chunks on the Oild Drain Mag

You do have a Drain plug thats a Magnet dont you
