2005 YZ 2 Strokes!!

wrong message board!!

It's good to keep an eye on the industry. 06 thumpers will most likely have the aluminum frame. Too bad it didn't happen for 05.

Man.. Yamaha went all out on the 2-smokes this year. Makes me envious. As much as I love thumpers, it makes me kinda wonder how I would do with the '05 250????

As nice as the 05 2-strokes look I think I'll be waiting until the 2006's come out and pick up an aluminum framed (hopefully) 450F and maybe even a 250F! Why settle when you can have both?!

Yamaha still looks like it is near the head of pack when it comes to bikes.

hmm too bad the 2 smokes are only 5 lbs lighter.

Still no hydraulic clutch on any of them which is a shame.

The press release said the 05 YZ250 dropped 8lbs from 04. My 01 YZ250 feels really light compared to the 03 YZ450F.

I'll bet the 06 thumpers will be trimmed down alot! I'll be thinking blue all the way for 06.

oh , sorry, the frame is 5 lbs lighter.

I think I'm going to be first in line for the new YZ125. I can't believe they shaved off 10lbs on a 125! I was planning on downsizing to a 250f and hoped Yamaha would make some significant changes to wet my appetite, but the thought of riding a featherweight that the new YZ appears to be seems unreal. My buddy at a dealer has also heard they greatly improved the power in the new motor, making it much more competitive to the 250f's much like the KTM. I bought my 450 with the thoughts of it being a great all-round, versitile bike (which it is for the most part) but for the entire time I've owned it I've only gone open riding 2 times and the rest of the time I'm at the track. I still prefer the four stoke power delivery, but feel it's advantages are less realized on a tight SX type track not to mention the extra lbs. Anyone interested in a 450f in So Cal drop me a line.

Sweet!!!!!! Just at the legal AMA weight limit, with fuel.

I think Yamaha worked on the 2 stroke in order to show off at the next S :cheers:X season, DV Ferry, and Chad are going to smoke the compitition, espesially when RC is riding a lemon!!! LOL.
