Just Shortened my 04 450f Silencer, Looks Sounds Good

I didn't think the pipe diameters were the same. Isn't the 250F smaller?

im not sure. i have a 250 silencer at home, ill try it tonight and see.

Cut it with a metal blade on a :lol:miter saw.

Still working and looking great!!!

sweet that should work nice...

now i hear you leave the inside baffling a little longer?

so take about 3" off the outside pipe and maybe 2.5" on the baffling?:devil:

Yes, so that inside baffle tube fits nicely into the end cap. You can't really go wrong with this one!!

Doesn't the length change detune the exhaust system?

Joe

Is there anyone who knows exactly the effects are of shortening the exhaust? any dyno's, any engine problems?

wouldnt you have to rejet the bike after that like any other aftermarket silencer

a friend just did it to his yzf400 and he loves it, he didn't have to rejet although we adjusted his fuel screw a little. he cut about 4" off(using a hack saw) and he noticed pick up on the bottom end and a little louder in volume.
