426 valve adjustment

3 posts in this topic

This may be a dumb question but here it goes. As the hours add up on the motor does the cam lobe/valve bucket gap get bigger or smaller? I've got 4 that are well within the factory spec and one that is just under spec ( the gap is just under the lower limit rather than upper limit)

The gap will get tighter with time. As the valve and seat wears the valve sits lower in the seat (closer to the cam).
