New Tires....... What Size???

Hey Guys,

It looks like I'm going to order some Dunlop 756's. What size are you guys running? Any particular reason? Or just go with stock?

I ride mostly hard pack MX and some technical trail riding, heavy on the rocks.

Bill

97 KDX220, 86 TTR225, 99 WR400f, WR timing, throttle stop trimmed, air box lid removed, White Bros head pipe, silencer and air filter. De-octopussed. Works frame guards and Thumper Rad Guards, Scotts steering damper. Odometer and headlight removed. Cycra Pro-Bend hand and mud guards. YZ stock tank, IMS seat and number plate. Renthal Jimmy Button "highs" and Renthal Soft half waffle grips. AMA, SETRA, Happy Ramblers MXC, Rausch Creek MXC, Tower City Trail Riders.

I'm getting new tires tomorrow also (still on stock). Can I tag along and ask for advice: 75% paved backroads, 25% dirt trails (nothing rocky or technical). Also, what's a good all beginner road tire for supermotard. Sorry to hijack the topic, but am really out of the know on this subject.

I love my 756's, but Dunlop markets them as good for soft to intermediate terrain. I don't have any experience with them under the conditions you ask about, but I did find this handy chart that helps you select the right tire (Dunlop) for the job. Good Luck.

Also, I am running a 110/100-18 rear, it was the biggest available. I would have bought a 120/100 if they made it...I don't remember the front but I think there is only one to choose from in the 756's anyway. I heard so many good things about the tires, I had to try them. Also besides riders recommendations on TT, they seemed to be the most widely used tire in the recent Dirt Rider Magazine article where they did a 24 hour off-road bike test at Glen Helen.
