Oil pump priming XR650L

1 post in this topic

I ran the bike for a short time after the left and right cases were removed and put back on temporarily(the oil in each side of the case drained out) My concern is making sure the oil pump is primed before I put the cases back on permanently. The shop manual seems to only reference how to prime it prior to installing a new pump(It says turn counter clockwise until oil comes out the check valve, but wheres the ckeck valve?). Anyone know how to check it?
