is it possible to make a 400 a 426 ?

i was thinking about the 420 kit but wondered it i could turn it into a 426? if its possible what would i need besides a cylinder and piston ? :thumbsup:

You'll need the 426 piston, cylinder and the 426 rod kit. The big end pin on the 400 & 426 are the same size but the small end is 1mm larger on the 426. It's an excellent upgrade, but currently the big end pins seem to be pretty tough to get. They are backordered through most standard sources but if you check around you should be able to find someone that has the full kit in stock.

Try the online parts companies first like Yamaha of Troy etc. The pricing you get from them should be consistent with current market discounted value for the parts.

Labor to rebuild the crank will probably be in the $60-$100 dollar range depending on who you take it to.
