Touchy rear brake?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if the rear brake on the WR400's is just really sensitive by nature. All I have to do is touch the thing and my rear tire locks up. If this is not normal is there a easy way to fix it?

My WR450 is the same way but with some time on the bike I have been able to use the brake without locking it up all the time. It is very sensitive so you have to seriously concentrate on not crunching down on the pedal. Also, somthing I do alot is leave it in gear with the clutch out. The motor will drag the brake and keep it from locking up in all but the highest gears. Even with the bike in gear at idle if you really cram the brake, it will stall the engine. Anyway, hope these tips help out...
