BBRguy, I have been in for 25 years now and finally fixing to hang it up, I guess. Between all the Infantry stuff and the dirtbikes its getting tough to hang (paratrooping and dirtbikes are hard on the knees!) but it will always be in the blood! Believe me, the time will pass you by so fast!

Thank you for serving this great country. Even a former Marine appreciates a soldier doing their part regardless of the branch of service. If you are at FT.Lee are you combat engineering by any chance? Good luck and God be with you in your service. :)

BBRguy, congratulations on completing basic and AIT(when you get there!). I have some experience in the Army, 11c Infantry soldier, a Desert Storm veteran, went to FT.Benning, GA where the Army trains the Airborne and Rangers. BEFORE you are done with AIT, talk to your drill instructor and TELL him that you want airborne school, if you get into airborne school, then tell the instructors there you want Rangers or Special Forces, it all starts there in AIT! Good luck!!

You and anyone else who is serving (or has served) in any armed forces, please take my big THANKS! Wow what a mess we would be in if you guys (and girls?) weren't around. Maybe we need a fund to help veterans get bikes when they leave the service. :)
