question for you real smart yz guys

i have the dr d wet sump kit on my 426. could i put a 04 yzf450 flywheel cover on it, since it has the oil fil on the side? looks like it would work but i havent really looked at a 450 close enough in person

I wouldnt think so, the 450 is a redesign and I would assume the cover as well.

Tha part numbers for the cases as well as the gaskets are differant so I would say no

I asked the same question before and didn't get anyone that knew. Go to the dealer and see if they have both and compare them.

compare the gaskets. If they are the same gasket, then yes. If not, there is a different mounting pattern.

thats true for mounting pattern, but not for how tall or short the cover is. I'd check between the two for if cover on 450 is same or taller than 426 after checking the mounting pattern. Also any possible clearances for anything.
