2006 yz125 value

Guys, I am looking at a 2006 yz125. The bike is in very good condition. Plastics are like new, tires like new, stock exhaust, adult owned and ridden. A very clean bike overall. What would you say a bike like this is worth? I have no idea.

Ask if the shift stopper (part in the gearbox) has been updated, '06 models had a recall.

Thanks for the replies. I will ask about the gearbox update. His bottom dollar is $2200. So I guess he is at the top of the price range. Hmmmm.

Since the bike is virtually the same as a new one they hold their value well. In my neighborhood 2200 for a well maintained one would sell prwtty quick.

Too much, but then again, it is quibbling territory.

That bike, in pristine condition tops at $1,950. Worn examples (but still in great shape) are $1,300 bikes.

Sold mine for $2400 completely stock. The shift stopper part from an 07 is cheap if you do buy the bike.

Pictures are nearly worthless to evaluate a dirt bike. It needs to be inspected in person. Plastic is dirt cheap and aluminum frames easy to clean. The engine case shows the true age. All we know is he pressure washes the bike. It could look brand new yet the engine is worn out and all the chassis bearings are a brownish red slurry.

 

Wait a week or 2 and go look at the bike. If it truly checks out, make him a cash offer on the spot. People that say they are firm tend to reconsider when the money is in their line of sight.
