Tips for a new mx rider

Look where you want to go, not where you currently are.

Look where you want to go, not where you currently are.

This is a big one. The further you look ahead, the more it reduces your speed perception (which allows you to be comfortable going faster).

Here are some tips

Stand as much as possible (like an inch off the seat), sitting in corners

When you start jumping, position your body on the back of the bike. When leaving the jump surface, lean foward and stay on the gas.

Watch some riding tutorials by Ricky Carmichael. Might be too much to think about at first but gives you a general idea of whats going on

But first, just learn to handle the bike. Build muscle memory and make riding as natural as walking, then you advance your style.
