Exhaust is making a whistling sound?

4 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

My '07 Yamaha WR450 makes a whistling sound when I let off the throttle and I want to know if it is something I should be worried about.  I took a video so you guys can hear what I am talking about.   Nobody else's bike sounds like this when I go on group rides or when Im at the track. Let me know what you guys think.

I wouldn't worry about that.

I would verify the seal at the cylinder head, mid pipe joint and looks around your muffler for exhaust leaks kinda what of sounds like to me. You could have the slightest leak making that whistling noise.
