need help on shift forks, YZ450F

5 posts in this topic

Hi guys.

I am going to replace shift forks of 2013 yz450f.

I already have good forks of 2006 and 2007. Do they fit on 2013???

I need to know it before taking an engine apart.

Compare part numbers on Motosport.com or rmatv.com.

I don't know, but I would guess they are probably different.

All three forks are different, but they are very similar.  I know that the portion that interfaces with the gears directly is dimensionally the same as the '06 because people have fit '07 WR gears to the '10-'13 gear boxes.  However, there are several aspects of the fork that this doesn't address; shaft length, diameter, follower pins (the shift cam is also different).

If it were me, I would plan on not using the older forks.  Why would you change them in the first place?
