Left main shaft is my guess. If so, you should be able to move the clutch around quite a bit from under the outside cover.

I will check the clutch right now, good news is I found about 95% of the parts. Bad news is I have found 95% of the parts…

Looks like the old shift stopper wheel. If you never updated to the 2015 stopper.I stand corrected after looking at the second picture.That not a shift stopper cage.Looks like splitting the case time.

Well, I'm stumped. I can't find anything wrong or loose or out of place at all...

I've done my best to put the pieces of that bearing back together and can't find anything the same thickness where it could even fit.

I've searched the online engine break down diagrams and the only bearings I see are the ones in my bike!

I know this sounds pretty wacko, but you think some drunk jap dropped a random bearing during install?

This is the first time the side covers have ever been pulled.

Like I say, I'm scratching my head here....

Time to throw in a 2015 connecting rod and a WR 4th and 5th!

I haven't read up on this but this is worth considering. Is the 15' rod better? Was there anything wrong with the 14' rod?

And would it be a straight swap of gears for 4th and 5th? Cause that intrigues me a lot!

But back to the point, where that crap did this crushed bearing come from??!!!!

Here's a picture of the bearings in the transmission with half of the outer race of that bearing sitting in there. My finger is pointing to the closest sized shaft that that bearing could fit, but the piece that fits in that is not a spinning piece, it just sits in there.

I think the part that really leads me towards thinking my crazy drunk Japanese mechanic theory is correct, is because there are four pieces of this bearing that are circular in shape that are a little bent, but not ripped in half. If a bearing fails on a shaft you would think parts of the bearing would be left on the shaft unless they were torn in half in order to get off of the shaft…

Riddle me this: If a bearing failed inside a motor and you found circular pieces of that bearing that were not ripped in half, would you not think that those circular pieces should still be loosely fit on the shaft that they were installed on? How did all the pieces get off the shaft without being torn in half?

Heck I don't know. Where your finger is pointing is where the shafts for the shift forks ride, and no bearings on them.

Exactly, they're the closest sized shafts that would fit, but they aren't even a shaft that takes a bearing.

Can you get a bearing diameter? How many hours on the bike? If Wang f'd it up, wouldn't that show up immediately?

Show us a close up of that case half, but the front half where the crank bearing sits, all the way to front of case.

Guys, I'm putting the dang thing back together!

After studying the diagrams again and not even seeing a possibility, and inspecting all the parts in the garage and comparing to the diagrams, and the fact that there's full circular pieces of bearing left.... I just can't see how it came from something INSIDE the motor. It is very close, if not the exact same size as the bearing on the clutch actuating lever. But that bearing is there. Maybe I'll go pull it out and compare, but I think I'm good.

As for the gears and 15' rod, I'll do that some other time. Maybe put a good years worth of riding on it and do that next year.

Show us a close up of that case half, but the front half where the crank bearing sits, all the way to front of case.

I take back my comment about that bearing being closely related in size to the clutch actuator lever. The bearing on the clutch actuator lever uses long cylindrical Steeley's for bearings, not circular balls for the bearings.

      Hey all, let me get right to the point, basically for the past couple years I've had this bike, it hasn't been running right. It tends to start well, and has a decent amount of power for a 200+ lb kid on it, but once I attempt to hit the top of the power band, it tends to cough and sputter like it's choking. When I recently checked to carb to jet it, I realized ALL but one of the Jets are missing. I've checked the reed valves, they seem to be in great shape... However, today (it is a warm day) it ran great for a while, after topping off the oil and running with the choke half on, this bike also leaks oil, but I'm almost convinced that this is a jetting issue (being that they're missing)  at this point, but I've also never put a top end in this bike. Thanks for any help, I'd just like to get an opinion on what you guys think.   I know I'm all over the place btw, sorry for that

      I've currently got a 2016 yz250x. I love it but it's not road legal.
      I've got my motorbike license and I need a bike to ride to work. If I'm going to drop a few k on another bike, I figure I might aswell get a road legal dirtbike so I can ride on the road during the week but also ride in the state forests on the weekend.
      So my question is, what bike would suit my purpose better? The RMX or the WR? Or are there any other bikes I should be looking at? Here in australia theres about 20 times more wr's for sale then rmx's, and spare parts availabilty is easier for the wr cos they're so popular, so I'm leaning towards this, but I'm open to suggestions from others.
      Regardless of which one I got, I'd get a supermoto wheelset for it so I could just swap wheelset instead of changing tires every weekend.

      Hey ThumperTalk. I'm new to the forum and I have some questions about a 2001 yz426 I found for sale. The guy wants $1500 but said he would work with me on the price a little. I know that's a pretty good deal. What I'm wondering is how long the motor will last me. All I'll be doing is trail riding and riding around on a farm. I have an rm125 which I love. I was looking around for an 06+ yz250, but I found this deal and I've always heard good things about the 426's. He said he recently did the valves and it has been a good reliable bike for him. So would this be a good bike for me? I just don't wanna get a 4 stroke and have to dump a ton of money into it. My 2 stroke has been bullet proof. 
      Any help would be appreciated
