Good question however a large portion of that entirely depends on how it's ridden. A big bore generally ends up with more torque and doesn't necessarily use much more gas.

I run the IMS 3.2 tanks on all of my WR's.

My bike is a 2003 rather than a 2008, but also on 17s. No bigbore. If I'm having some fun but not riding that hard, backroads, I get around 35. I imagine riding harder that could drop significantly. Higher speed on freeway would hurt mileage too I imagine, although it isn't pleasant. I imagine boring riding toward the bottom of 5th gear could improve it. Gearing is important too: I have 14/40 which is fairly tall, and have a 15 tooth front that I might use eventually (especially if I have to do much freeway).

I think the tank is 2.4 on mine, so I'd rather not go more than 75 miles if I'm riding reasonably, maybe more like 60 if I'm riding hard. If it was 75 I'd try it, see how much gas I use, then try going faster if that's what I wanted to do and I had enough gas.
