packing silencer.....please help

I got the end caps off and the old packing out...when I shoved the new packing in I realized I'm two inches short. Is this normal.

I take it your bike is the canadain modle. Your silencer is 2" shorter then the US version. It might be that the packing you bought is for the US canister. Check with the parts department where you found the packing. Good luck. ?

Im just going to cut a two inch piece of the old stuff and see how that works.

Did it make a large difference in the volume level? I don't remmeber how much quieter mine was new but it hasn't been repacked in almost a year so I think it needs it. ?

The dealer gave me an extra one when I bought the bike. Don't they do that for you guys in the states. If not they should.
