Anyone pick up a 450FX yet?

Yeah I'm sold. Found one for $9100 OTD. What did you guys pay.

I paid $8500.00.  That does not include my state sales tax and licensing.  I bought mine out of state and haven't done that yet.  If your out the door with tax and registration for $9100, that was a pretty good deal.

Just the CA sales tax would put $8500 up over $9200.

I don't understand why you Americans aren't looking north. We're talking 70¢ on the dollar right now. A $10k bike is $7k!

I buy a particular brand of equipment parts from the canooks. Getting through customs sucks sometimes. Not all the time. But I've had parts sit there for 3 weeks on a UPS Red order.

But I guess a 3K savings would be worth it. Where should I look.

For sure there might be some downsides. But with the possibility of saving a couple grand, it might be worth the wait. Buying new always seem to be an issue when getting things across the border. Used is another story...

Good point. Do you have any recomendations where I should look.

Alberta would be my choice

$8195 Otd, no sales tax in N.H.

I bought my mountain bike frame from Canada (Rocky Mountain) and had to pay some decent import taxes on it - trying to remember but I think it was $80 on a $600 frame. Not sure if that was a percentage of the total cost or fixed tax or what. I wonder if it would be prohibitive or an advantage on a $9000ish dirt bike.

Unless you are gonna register it in the region you buy it, you will pay the sales tax in your home State when you go to register it.

Yup.  California will call it something else, but it will be the equivalent of the sales tax, and as many other things as they can tack on.

All finished! Just put the hand guards on and now all that's left is the reckluse clutch which I already had from my wr450 and just waiting on a new clutch cover.
Also I'll have a reckluse left hand brake for sale I'm going with ox brake cable actuated this time

I think you should start a new thread "What did you do to your YZ450FX today?" I wonder how all the MX people feel about us trail riders invading their forum :)

2016 YZ450FX's are going for $9,500 CDN OTD price + our 5% Tax. This is in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (north of Montana). Not sure if Americans would be subject to the tax.

Sounds like a huge savings can be had even with some potential fees at the border.

That's approxi $6500. Wow. Not bad.

Called riverside motorsports in Alberta. They are closed. Who closes a bike shop on weekends. Damn canoooks.
