Finally got my hands on a tuner, scanned through the user DB of different maps. That's all well and good but rather than just copy something I'd like to know how and why the particular settings make for more/less, smoother/quicker, bottom end/low end power, etc. I don't really know what questions to ask but I'll try... For the FI, I assume that '+' richens the fuel/air mixture and '-' leans it out. How does each affect power delivery? For the ignition I assume that '+' advances the timing and '-' retards the timing? How does each affect power delivery? With the GYTR tuner can the settings be changed so much that there becomes a possibility of engine damage from an overly-lean condition or detonation?
