Speedometer/Trip meter not working

2 posts in this topic

I have a 2007 wr450 and it has the digital speedometer/trip meter, it does not register anything, I'm not sure if there is some way the computer needs to be reset, or if a simple cleaning of the cable/ cable replacement would do the trick, but the cable costs around $200 new, so I'd rather not jump the gun and buy one if someone has had the same issue and fixed it without a replacement.

Is it an electrical cable or mechanical cable to the wheel?

If it's electrical, I'd put on ohm meter on to the wheel sensor and see if it's opening an closing the circuit.

If it's mechanical, check to see if the cable is rotating.
