easier clutch pull

The clutch on my 426 is fairly heavy, not really helped by the fact I have weird little t-rex hands.

Anyway, I found an 'ezi pull clutch mech' on eBay, did a bit of reading and found they reduce the amount the actuator arm moves, has anybody had any trouble with this? I 2 finger the clutch so I don't pull the lever to the grip so I'm already reducing the actuator arm movement a bit without this kit fitted.

Its a lot cheaper than the hydraulic option. I know extending the actuator arm is the best way to go but I didn't really want to go that deep into it.

I've heard reloacting the hole that the cable sits in in the lever helps as well, anybody done this?

I'm interested.  Got any links to the product or pictures?  I one-finger my 450's clutch.  After 5 minutes of playing trials bike, my hand gets tired.

Its fairly cheap at 55 notes but I've read a few people saying that the reduced actuator movement can (obviously) cause clutch drag or slip. I'm hoping a ton of people are going to show up now and say its a perfectly fine unit and then I'll buy it, if you get it let me know how you go pal

You can put in 250 springs (some or all) , and Motion pro cable, and a low leverage lever to make it much better.

Any low leverage lever will cause some clutch drag.

 

Adding more oil flow to the clutch baskets makes a HUGE improvment, allowing you to only lift one plate not all of them at once (due to oil stiction).

Search for 'clutch pull' or 'clutch mod' for more info.

 

The real cure is to ride much more, and to use the clutch much more often, holding it in every chance you get.

If you cut the lever down, you can pull it all the way to the grip.

Krannie, I did a search for the clutch mod and it didnt really come up with much. I did find a bit of info though, some people are saying to drill holes in the fingers of the clutch basket to allow more oil flow, but didn't mention how many holes and what size, I'm just a bit worried about weakening the fingers too much that's all. One guy mentioned he bored out the holes on the boss by a thou and also drilled 3 more to improve flow.

Is there a "how to" type guide to either of the above?

On a side note, I can't find the 'free mods' how to's either, the thumperfaq.com link in the sticky dosnt work (goes to a domain name sales page). Could you post a link to the free mods please?

As I read it this will reduce clutch grab and make it smoother, but not an easier pull.
