Im mostly interested in what year is the best. Like is the 2010 any better than the 2009, the 2013 better than the 2012 and so on. Is it worthwhile putting in the extra money to get the 2013 or will the 2009 be just as good? In the end i think that i would be happy with any of these bikes as they each have a factor that make them good. 2009 has low mileage, 2010 has good extras, 2012 has better suspension, is lighter, and comes with a hydraulic clutch, 2013 comes street legal which i might be interested in.

What do you think? Is one year that much better than another? Is one of these bikes that much better than the other?

-Right know i ride a wr250f but want something that has more power, mostly so i can do long hills easier and faster. Also i would like to be able to lift the front wheel easier to get over obstacles.

-About 70-80% of the time i am riding either atv/4x4 trails or tighter single track. The other 20-30% i like to have fun at the track, nothing serious just some fun with friends.

-One of my concerns is on the single track. I know that this is a bigger, heavier bike, and isn't the best for single track. Is one of these bikes better than the other for single track? Feels lighter, easier to manage in tight trails and so on.

-How do they compare for suspension? I know that its suspension is for trail riding but is one better than the rest for tack riding?

-How is the fuel injection on the 12/13. Is it much better than a well tuned carb? If i got the 09/10 i would get a jd jet kit to make the carb better.

Prices are in Canadian so don't be thrown of by the price.

Thanks

2007-2011 are the same

2012-2015 are the same

2012+ are SIGNIFIGANTLY better over all

All years and models require aftermarket tuning to get them to run well.

I had an 09 and upgraded the the 12 recently.

You won't find a 2010 or 2011 WR450 as they didn't actually release them in the USA.

The main advantage of the 2012 is fuel injection. Brakes, suspension, ergonomics is almost identical.

Carbs suck (no pun) and I'm not going back.

Uh, not exactly.

The 2003-2011 all had junk suspension.

Stock KYB Open bath forks, and the 11mm shaft shocks.

The '12+ has KYB's best SSS suspension.

I don't believe carbs suck at all. They pull fuel excellently through the motor many mods are available to make them very potent. They will produce far more horse power than the fuel injection provided on the 12-15 models.

I love the 07-11 models. I own three. Now looking at the new 2016 model which I believe will be good handeling and a potent horsepower producing machine.

Good to know! I thought my stock 09 suspension was just worn out. The 2012 is much firmer.

This is true.

All the magazines even say they prefer the Carb motor for racing, as it is much more aggressive, even if the peak dyno numbers are the same.

I have yet to ride a truly aggressive powerband on a FI bike.
