How much better will the 2016 WR be ?

Does anyone has an image of the bike without the plastic on it?

Or frame...?

I'm looking forward to seeing it at Long Beach motorcycle show this weekend.

D.

i am tossing up whether to get a run out 2015 WR450f or wait for the new 2016.

I read a transmoto article that stated that IMS is working on a 12L tank for the new model. If a larger tank option is not available for the 2016, i will buy the 2015 model and install IMS tank.

Anyone know if a bigger tank is available on the current WR250F? if so that would suggest one will be available for the 2016 wr450 in the near future.

I also wonder if the 5 valve motor is more duarable than the 4 valve

A quick search on Goggle reveals the oversize 2015 WR250F tanks from IMS!!!

There is also a 4 gal coming from Safari if you need that kind of capacity or have extra $'s to burn.

If the 450fx is anything like the 250fx I would wait. As far as the 5 valve motor vs the 4 valve in the durability department, go over to the 250 forum and read the 100hr dirtbike tear down of the 250fx.

Saw the 2016 at the LBMC show yesterday. Looks pretty damn good!

Would love to be the first to own and all that but my 2012 has 27 total hours on it. Work has been getting in the way. Ridden it one time in the last 1.5 years!

Will be heading out to Gorman tomorrow morning for a putt. Need to get some hours on this thing so I can justify selling it in a year and buying a 2017....after you guys get the learning curve out of the way on the necessary mods.

Can't wait to read the reviews!

Cheers.

No because the battery is in the way

...and the frame is not the same....

...and the frame is not the same....

Yo Krannie....hope your back is feeling better soon. We need to get out for a ride so you can show me some of those super secret trails you've got hidden away.

WRT the WR/FX frame....I think I read that they are the same as the YZ-F with different thickness motor mounts for more flex in the off roaders. Obviously the PNs would be different due to additional attachment points for specific FX/WR components but I believe all materials and dimensions are the same.

Cheers

So the new 2016 WR looks to come with a 2.0 gal. gas tank. Geez I hope the get good milage or IMS comes out with a larger tank.

I think you're right, that it's basically the same frame.  The WR and FX obviously have a little going on under the seat with the battery tray that the YZF does not have, but otherwise it should be basically the same.

Not the same frame , seat, airbox, tank, or plastics as the YZ.

WR and YZFX will have the same frame

As I said, it's "basically" the same, except for likely just the battery tray.  Of course it will have a different part number even if it just had an extra loop welded on for the wiring.  But essentially it should be the same.  Do you know of any major differences?

I'll be visiting my dealer this week to find out if he knows anything...
