Wiseco or Vertex?

1 post in this topic

Hi all,

Time to get a new piston for the 426 is now! The rebuilt head is on the UPS truck, from EDCO, so I figure about 1 week from now, I should be able to re-assemble the 'ol 426 and hear it fire up for the first time since last October :).

Question is, should I get the standard Wiseco or go with Vertex. I have used Wiseco for 30 years in my 2-smokes and know I can trust them. Has anyone used the Vertex piston in a thumper? If so, any positive or negative feedback?

What I really am looking for is the greatest reliability. Minor performance differences come secondary.

Thanks in advance,
