drz400, no not wrong forum

I haven't ridden in a while. I got on a DRZ400 last week, and no offensne, but it felt like a truck compared to the other bikes I have ridden. I posted earlier trying to figure out if I would be happier on the wr250 or wr 426...I was looking at the dry weight of the drz vs. the 426 and saw they were fairly comperable, is my source correct? (bikez.com). I know that they aren't that similar in other areas, but I am just trying to figure out if the 426 is going to feel big and heavy to me. Also, is there a difference in weight between the 01 and 02 wr 426? I just don't want to sink $ into something and be frustrated in the woods. Thanks in advance, opinions wanted! Danny

I used to ride with three mates who had DRZ's. they were very nice bikes. But not fast not light and not that powerful. two were DRZ S's, One was a E.All full power British bikes. the e was the best but on rocky trails could not keep pace with my WR 400.

The group now consists of My WR 450,Gas-Gas FE 450,Husaberg 450, and last but by no means least DRZ 400 s.

Enough said ?

difference between DRZ-E and WR426 about 25-30 lbs. wet.

..., and no offensne, but it felt like a truck compared to the other bikes I have ridden.

Like a truck is good, I would have said a Locomotive :D

Black and White when comparing the two bike. Funny thing I was actually looking at a KTM 625SXC, sticker price was incredible, then I looked at the specs 291lbs dry :D :D :D now I know why it is cheap :)

difference between DRZ-E and WR426 about 25-30 lbs. wet.

More like 10 to 15 pounds.

the weight of the kick start only drz is right on par with a wr.the E model is 15 lbs more. :)

That's a good one...

So am I... :):D :D

I could have swore that someone just posted wet weights of the DRZE (E-start) maybe it was an "S" but I know it was 300 lbs. Someone correct me if I didn't see that. I can't find the post. WR426 wet weight around 270 lbs.

Any takers?

no! a S is 295-300 stock.you ditch 10 lbs of that just ine xtra garbage.a E is 280 or so.i actually had mine down to 269.i weighed my kicker just the other day and came in at 260.no lights,no gaurds and ti pipe. :)

Get the WR 250.It won't beat you up in tight woods.

I'm thinking of trading my WR 400 for one. :)

Curious about the topic title. Did someone give you $hit? :)
