Front fork air bleeder

8 posts in this topic

I would like to get some air bleeders so that unscrewing a fairly inaccessible screw becomes a thing of the past. The MSR part looks OK but is only listed for the YZ450 - since the WR has YS type KYB forks will it fit? http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/68041/i/msr-fork-bleeder

I like the look of the Motion Pro bleeders better than the MSR, but they are listed for Honda and KTM only. The MSR link intimated that the Honda bleeder may fit the Yamaha screw size [5mm X 0.8] : http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/53741/i/motion-pro-micro-bleeders

Anyone use these and know which one will fit the WR 2012+

Any old M5 x .08 will do.  I use the Motion Pro ones because they are the shortest, but be gentle when installing them because the notch for the flathead screwdriver is soft and will deform and strip easily.  They don't need to be torqued tightly at all.

If you fall and break off a bleeder, you will have to limp home.

I've seen it happen in the brambler just off the trail where we ride.

Just saying.

I was able to find these nice Works Connection fork bleeders at my Yami dealer. They are low profile and have a hex head below the push button relief valve so [carefully] tightening them in place is easy...

Wow Krannie - I'm not sure how an object would be able to get in to break one of these off - but if you've seen it happen then yah, could be an issue

Don't get me wrong, I have them on my bike.....which I have sheared off more than once, and now tuck them inside so you can't just push-n-go to vent the forks....

I nearly broke one off here....
