YZ450F 2013 Head Gasket

3 posts in this topic

Hi Guys,

So I pulled apart my 2013 Yz450F to replace the head gasket.

As I pushed down the base, I noticed movement left and right when placing the head down (No bolts in the yet) (when moving the head towards the rear brake pedal and the cam chain).

Is this normal? There is no movement when pushing the head towards the steering column or back.

You took all the bolts out that hold the cylinder down, probably except for the one 6mm at the base of the chain tunnel.  The base gasket is a steel shim.  Wouldn't be unusual to see it move a little bit.

Thanks Grayracer, that puts my mind at ease.
