2014 YZ450 - Where is your preload adjuster when sag is adjusted correctly?

I just set the sag on a '14 YZ450 that I bought last weekend.  It's amazing how far down (tightened) the preload adjuster has to be for me to have around 105mm of race sag.  It's way towards the end of the threads on the tight side.  I'm about 195 without gear, which I know is heavier than what the bike was probably sprung for.  But, I'm probably slower than what it is for, so maybe they even out.  lol

I also measured the static sag, and it was around one inch (25-ish mm), but I'm just using a tape measure so it's hard to be too exact.  I've read if the static sag is too little then that means the spring is too soft, which would explain why the adjuster has to be so tight.  I checked the Pro Circuit page, and static sag seems to be in the ballpark, but right at the low end.  The range is 30-40mm, which comes out to 1.18"-1.57".  I could see a tenth or two of error using the tape measure.

Just curious if the adjuster is pretty far towards the bottom like it is for me, of if I might need to think about a stiffer spring.

Thanks for any info.

Sounds about right. Mine is the same way. I tried the heavier spring but actually liked it better with the softer one with less static sag.

Perfect, thanks for your response.  I'm going to ride it for the first time this weekend and see how she feels.

What springs are bigger guys (~220lbs) front and rear on the 2014?
