Best slip on exhaust for a yz400f

What are some of your opinions on the best and reasonably priced slip on's for the 400?

Lexx is very affordable and has a great sound

Thanks! That looks like a sweet pipe, but I can't seem to find one for the 400? Looks like they are all for the 450's

Well if the 400 has the same mounts would have to research it but should fit without modifications

Cool thanks. I'll have to look into it. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Has anybody put just a 450 silencer on a 400?

The YZ400 and YZ426 exhaust systems exchange pretty freely, and systems from '03-'05 YZ450's can usually be made to fit.  No one I'm aware of makes an aftermarket exhaust for the 400 anymore.

Cool thanks. I'm looking into a Lexx slip on for a 03-05 450. Brand new on eBay for 180 bucks. Not to bad at all.

Just remember that you get what you pay for. The cheapest exhaust is most likely the "cheapest" exhaust...

I have a 426 and it's a pain trying to find an exhaust for it. You can also try to ebay some used ones. I can't justify spending $350 for a FMF slip on for my $1500 bike. Stocker works best for me now...

Yeah you're absolutely right. Thanks for your opinion. That's about the only reason I'll buy a "cheaper" pipe because I know it's a 1500 dollar bike. I'll keep my eye out for a good used one too but so far most of them are pretty beat up.

Lexx is a very good pipe that just happens to be cheap havee had them on several quads with no issues to speak of

Thanks that's good to here.

Thats good to know about the Lexx. I often assume if it's a lesser known brand and cheap there is a definite compromise

No comprise I have a fmf 4.1 titanium and was thinking about selling it for a lexx, lexx has a way better tone in my opinion

And here I thought people wanted aftermarket exhausts for performance improvements.

The fact is that the factory exhaust systems on YZF's from '98 up to '07 were all remarkably well engineered, and producing any improvement over them almost always requires a top tier complete system.  Even then, one HP over stock is good.  All that you're apt to get out of a good slip-on is a little less weight and a more modern look without loosing power.  The Lexx is not a top tier product, though.

That is definitely the main reason for me, I guess I figured most new aftermarket pipes would be better then 1998 technology.

As far as the silencer goes they are all basically the same when you remove the spark arestor

Agreed. My Yamaha R6 had a titanium exhaust slip on stock from the factory. I changed that out for one that was $1000 cooler....but it sounded sweet

What do you guys think about a full old school Noleen Exhaust? I know they were big back in the day but I have never known anybody who had one.

I ended up going with a pro circuit t4 full system. I like it a lot.
