cheep source for a starter button?

8 posts in this topic

This weekend I went on a long ride on my trusty 2006 WR450. It all went ok other than some how my starter button broke. I went by the Yamaha shop today to price a new one and it is about $50 dollars. I have a gift card to Rocky Mountain but they do not list a starter switch. I thought about buying a cheaper kill switch and just wiring it to The start wires. EBay prices are the same as dealership prices. Has anyone done this or does anyone have a switch they are willing to sell me?

I got a Tusk button for my 08 from rocky Mountain atv .

Dunno if it would fit your steel frame 06,but it looked just like the factory button. Plugged right in, solved my problem.

Edit : $11 on their website for my 08

Is a 2007 the same. Here is a Tusk on Ebay for $15 something with free delivery. I could of sworn I stumbled on a few of these when I was trying to find the clutch saftey switch. But now I am trying to replicate what I thought I saw and below is all I come up with.

Ron Ayers has cheap OEM parts.

Starter switch is #19 and costs $23.64

plus shipping.  If you get up over $89 you get free shipping.  Rocky Mountain ATV has OEM parts too but their price is significantly higher.

the Tusk one that ZZ4Blazer posted above looks identical.

Use the parts finder function on RMATV...and select your bike and year and it will bring up all the parts for the 2008 WR450F....and scroll down to the electrical section and you can find the starter switch that ZZ4Blazer posted.
