650r first ride

2 posts in this topic

Just in from my first day-long outing with my '02 650r, Can't get over how much power this thing puts out... at any speed/any gear/any rpm. Need more? Twist the throttle.

Question: ride was pretty muddy, any parts particularly susceptible to damage from water spray (and/or excess mud) during cleaning that I need to pay extra attention to?

Thanks!

:)

Yep, remove the chain adjuster bolts and hit them with anti-seize or some grease asap! The stainless steel bolt and the aluminum swingarm don't mix and will seize quickly.

Catch it now, the fix for this is not fun. :)

Check out the FAQ at www.xr650r.us -- great resource site.
