Essential Parts/Tools for WR You Bring When Riding

Recommended Posts

Hey All-

First off, its freezing where I am, but I can't get riding off my mind.  But this is the time of year I try to take care of some maintenance related bike issues, etc.  For those of you that have read any of my posts, I am not super mechanically inclined to say the least!  That being said, I am wondering what each of you recommends to have with when riding for a day, a few days or a week?  I have a 2012 WR450F and love it.  But I have had some spills when riding, and have wrecked the rear brake lever, front clutch lever, lost seat bolts, just to name a few.  I found this kit on Amazon that i thought was pretty clever...  So If I am riding and I need a part, its there!91UvgVYkopL._SL1500_.jpg

I also bought an extra front brake and clutch lever as well.

So what tools do you all bring with, and what other extra/spare parts do you bring with?  I am going to get a small toolbox and stash some of these away!

Thanks All.  Happy New Year!

nearly IDENTICAL tool list for me, all in an Ogio Flight vest with 100oz bladder. In addition, 2 way radio, JB weld, and some type of food like almonds or shot blocks for anyone who bonks on a ride. I carry ibuprofen and vicodin in a basic first aid kit. Also carry a 19" front tube for my daughter's bike. I've found that carrying the extra 30+ pounds really isn't as much to complain about versus having a failure/breakdown/injury that I cannot fix on the trail. Mind you, I RARELY have to fix a flat or mechanical break.

I tried fitting regular dykes into my vest, but the short hair chafed me something fierce.
