PAINT ? ? ?

Just to make things clear, i believe i was one of the first or THE first to do a silver frame on a steel frame yzf on this forum :usa::thumbsup:

Powder coated frame and engine covers:

Not trying to hijack your guys' thread, but I have a quick question. I bought my yz used, but before that I had a TTR I bought new. I wore the paint off the frame in about 5 rides to where you could see the bare steel.

Is this an issue with powdercoating?

BTW I think Gold or Yellow would look sweet!

No powdercoating is pretty tough stuff, but as with anything if u keep rubbing ur boots on it will eventually fade off, so put frame protectors!!!

Thanks i worked hard on it. The place i took it too took care of all the bolt holes and the frame. I definitely let them know about the frame oil tank though. As far as the bolt holes i ran a tap through them when i got it back just to be safe.

Yeah thats what i was kinda thinking. I called a place and they said that they have all kinds of bolts that they can throw in the frame and then there going to mask off the parts that need to be. they said that they have done custom harleys and a hand full of dirt bike frams so i think they have a pretty good hold on it. But again i apprciate the feed back:thumbsup:
