WR450 cracked case

2 posts in this topic

I think there may already be a topic on this but i was unable to find it. I recently bought a 2004 WR450, after several attempts at kick starting (the engine started) I noticed the kick starter had not completely retracted. So to cut a long story short It appears that a section of the engine case has cracked out and it appears the kick start mechanism is broken A few questions

1. Is this common with older model WR's

2. Is the cracked section repairable i.e. welding of the case

3. If not repairable is a new case required

4. Does the whole motor need to be removed regardless

As I'm very novice any help would be great
