05 WR450F no lights

2 posts in this topic

Hi. I just traded my snowmobile for a 05 WR450F. The headlight plug is melted on the top wire. The horn is bypassed. No taillight. I just brought it home an hour ago and haven't started tracking things down yet. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this. This bike starts right up and runs great. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I'm no good at electrical. Thx

I would check the voltage regulator/rectifier first.

Its sounds like you have an aftermarket dual sport kit

so you are going to have to identify which one it is,

then down load their wiring diagram.

Dual sport kits and aftermarket stators

convert the bikes electrical system from AC to DC using an aftermarket regulator /rectifier.

Get a decent ohm/voltage meter and down load a manual for your bike

( you will find a link for manuals in the

WR Performance index in the WR Forum ) .

The manual has easy instructions for testing electrical components.
