Primary Sprocket Seal Change

Hey everyone,

I've got an '08 450F that I got about 3 months ago. Haven't ridden it much this summer (6 hours maybe) and I took it out for a little spin this evening. When I got back it was leaking oil out of the primary sprocket seal pretty bad. Is it possible to change that seal without splitting the case? If so, how would I do it?

Yes you can do it without splitting the cases. I literally just an hour ago received this same kit for my bike and it all looks top notch. I've always used oem previously, just tried to save a few bucks this time. I'm confident it will last just as long.

Thanks Dr! Do you know if I'll need any special tools to do the job?

Just basic hand tools. Remove the front sprocket and gently pry the seal out after removing the collar. You will probably have to remove the rear wheel to get the chain loose enough but before you do that crack loose the sprocket nut first.
