Right Crankcase seals swap

1 post in this topic

Recently i had to replace the water pump seals inside the crankcase after i got it all put back together i noticed a smal crack in the bottom of the crankcase. long story short a buddy had a spare crankcase cover he gave to me but it didnt have any of the seals or orings or dowels in it so i have to swap mine from the old one. in that process this may sound dumb but this is the first time ive been inside of this crankcase i removed a seal and under it a sping and a little ball bearing and i was so focused on not losing that ball bearing on the ground that i didnt even realize which way the seal seats into the crankcase cover. the one side is flat with a metal ring near the inside of the seal and the other side is beveled in. which side of this seal faces the ball bearing?
