Shroud air intakes make great sand scoopers

I was out in the dunes yesterday and I went down. The fouled shroud intake design worked as a scoop in the sand. The entire shroud and intake was filled. Why has yamaha not addressed the design flaw. They could at least screen off the intakes!!

 Any chance you crashed at the silver lake? About to head up there in a week.

 

 Not to hijack the thread, but I'd also love to know what pre filter you are using, tried finding some to no avail.

Yeah it was silver lake. And the pc filters, I don't oil them just wash them out everytime I do a filter change. They work great at blocking mud too.
